1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Echo Zulu Defense X1R556-Ti suppressor. This guide provides essential information for safe and effective use, maintenance, and installation. Please read thoroughly before use.


2. Safety Information

  • Ensure your firearm is unloaded before installing, removing, or maintaining the suppressor.
  • Use proper safety equipment during installation and maintenance.
  • Regularly check suppressor alignment with a bore alignment rod to prevent baffle strikes.
  • Use only SAAMI or CIP-compliant ammunition.
  • Avoid exceeding the full-auto rating: 90 rounds of sustained fire with a 10-minute cooldown or a suppressor temperature of 900°F. Titanium fatigue can occur above this threshold.
  • The suppressor can reach extreme temperatures. Avoid handling when hot.
  • Use in well-ventilated areas to reduce exposure to lead or other harmful substances. Wash hands after handling.

3. Regulations

This suppressor is regulated under the National Firearms Act (NFA). Ownership, transfer, and use must comply with all federal, state, and local laws.

  • Storing an unlocked suppressor with unauthorized individuals may be deemed “constructive possession” by the ATF.
  • Export is prohibited without valid authorization under ITAR and EAR regulations.

4. Installation

Included Mount

  • Thread Sizes:
    • Barrel Interface: 1/2"-28
    • HUB Interface: 1.375"-24

Installation Steps

  1. Attaching the Mount to the Suppressor:
    • Apply copper anti-seize to threads.
    • Hand-thread the mount onto the suppressor.
    • Torque to 25 ft/lbs.
  2. Attaching the Suppressor to the Rifle:
    • Clean muzzle threads.
    • Hand-tighten the suppressor onto the barrel.
    • Torque to 25 ft/lbs.
  3. Alignment Check:
    • Use a bore alignment rod.
    • Third-party mounts must be under 1.65 inches in length from the top of the HUB interface threads.

Note: Use the included suppressor spanner wrench tool with a 1/2" or 3/8" drive torque wrench for precise installation or removal.


5. Maintenance

Cleaning Frequency

Clean every 2,500 rounds or sooner for optimal performance.

Cleaning Instructions

Soak Cleaning:

  • Submerge in 1-part Simple Green to 4-parts water for 24 hours.
  • Rinse with clean water and dry completely.

Ultrasonic Cleaning (Recommended):

  • Use a diluted Simple Green solution (1:4 ratio).
  • Run for 15-20 minutes without heat.
  • Rinse thoroughly and dry.

Coating Precautions

  • Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasives to protect the DLC and hBN coatings.

  • .22 Hornet

  • .17 HMR
  • .17 Mach 2
  • All calibers smaller than .224.
  • Magnum-rated within these restrictions.

7. Full-Auto Rating

  • Avoid exceeding a suppressor temperature of 900°F to prevent titanium fatigue.
