Safety
- Confirm the firearm is unloaded before installing, removing, or servicing the suppressor.
- Verify bore alignment with an alignment rod in the suppressor’s caliber before
the first shot on a new host, and again after any change of mount, barrel, or firearm. For this
suppressor, use a .30 / .308 / 7.62 rod. - Use only SAAMI- or CIP-compliant ammunition loaded to published pressure specifications.
- Do not fire sabot ammunition through this suppressor.
- Do not fire with any obstruction in the bore.
- Wear hearing protection. A suppressor reduces the report; it does not make a
firearm safe for unprotected hearing in all conditions. - This suppressor becomes extremely hot in normal use and will cause immediate burns. Use a
suppressor cover or allow it to cool before handling. - If the report, recoil, or point of impact changes noticeably during a string, stop firing and
inspect the suppressor and mount before continuing.
Legal & Regulatory
- This suppressor is a firearm silencer regulated under the National Firearms Act. Possession,
transfer, and transport must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local law. - Transfer requires ATF approval before the suppressor may lawfully change hands. Transfer tax
amounts and processing requirements are set by current federal law — confirm them with your dealer
at the time of transfer. - Only the registered owner, or a person in the registered owner’s presence and control, may
possess the suppressor. Storing it where an unauthorized person has independent access may
constitute constructive possession. - Interstate transport of an NFA firearm may require prior ATF notification. Verify before you
travel. - Export is prohibited without proper authorization under ITAR and EAR.

Caliber & Fit
Maximum bullet diameter: .308 (0.308″)

meets the minimum length for your cartridge.

Installation
Suppressor interface: 1.375″-24 HUB
Step 1 — Prepare.
- Confirm the firearm is unloaded and the action is open.
- Inspect the host muzzle threads. They must be clean, concentric, and cut square to the bore.
- Check blast chamber clearance. Measure the depth of the suppressor’s blast
chamber and confirm your mount or muzzle device will not contact the blast baffle. Keep a minimum
of 0.25″ of clearance. This is primarily a concern with muzzle devices —
direct-thread adapters rarely protrude far enough to be an issue.
Step 2 — Install.
- Apply a light film of high-temperature nickel-based anti-seize to the HUB threads.
- Hand-thread the mount fully into the suppressor, then torque to 20–25 ft-lbs,
or to the mount manufacturer’s specification if it differs. - Thread the suppressor onto the host by hand until seated, then torque to
20–25 ft-lbs. Quick-detach mounts: install per the mount manufacturer’s
instructions and confirm the locking mechanism is fully engaged.
Step 3 — Verify.
- Check alignment with an alignment rod sized for the suppressor’s caliber — a .30 / .308 / 7.62 rod. Do this before the first shot
and every time you change hosts. - Re-check torque after the first 50 rounds on a new host, then at the start of each range session.
- A suppressor that comes loose under fire may strike. If it loosens, stop firing and work
through it: confirm the mount and the suppressor are torqued to spec, clean the threads and
re-apply anti-seize, re-check alignment with the guide rod, and confirm the muzzle shoulder is
square to the bore before firing again.
Use Rating & Duty Cycle
- Full-auto rated: No.
- Designed for: bolt-action rifles and precision hunting, where round counts are low and weight matters more than anything else.
- Backpressure: High. The Altitude will run on a semi-automatic host, but a high-backpressure can sends noticeably more gas and blowback to the shooter’s position. If your rifle has an adjustable gas block, tune it.
- Magnum cartridges: limit to 3–5 round strings, then allow the suppressor to cool before continuing.
Thermal Limits
- Maximum sustained wall temperature: 800°F. Ti-6Al-4V loses strength as temperature climbs, and sustained or repeated exposure above this point causes cumulative microstructural damage that is not visible from the outside.
- An IR thermometer takes the guesswork out of this.
- Allow the suppressor to cool before resuming an aggressive firing schedule.
Maintenance
Carbon accumulates with use and should be cleaned out periodically.
Interval: every 1,000–1,500 rounds, or sooner depending on your ammunition and firing schedule.
Preferred method — ultrasonic.
- Use Simple Green diluted 1:4 with water, or a dedicated suppressor cleaner
(Breakthrough or similar). - Heat the bath to the cleaner’s recommended temperature and run a 10–15 minute
cycle. - For heavy deposits, extend the cycle or run additional cycles rather than increasing the
concentration. - Protect the finish. If your ultrasonic has a wire basket, contact with it can
damage the Cerakote. Instead, place the suppressor and the diluted cleaner in a sealed zip-top bag,
then fill the ultrasonic tub with plain water and set the bag in the tub. The bag transmits the
ultrasonic energy while keeping the can off the basket. - Rinse thoroughly with clean water, blow dry with compressed air, and allow to dry completely
before storage or use.
Alternative — soak. A 24-hour soak in the same 1:4 Simple Green solution works,
but it is less effective than ultrasonic. Rinse and dry the same way.
Threads and mount. Break the suppressor down from the mount at each cleaning
interval, wipe both thread sets clean, and re-apply high-temperature nickel-based anti-seize before
reassembly.
Do not use anything containing hydrofluoric acid. HF attacks titanium
aggressively and will destroy the suppressor. Check the SDS of any wheel cleaner, rust remover, or
“aluminum brightener” before it goes near this can.
This is a sealed monolithic build. There is nothing inside to disassemble — cleaning is done
with the suppressor intact.

Step 2 — Install.
- Apply a light film of high-temperature nickel-based anti-seize to the host threads.
- Thread the suppressor on by hand until it seats firmly against the shoulder.
- Hand-tight only. Do not put a torque wrench on a rimfire host — firm hand
pressure is correct, and a wrench will damage a thin barrel shank.
Step 3 — Verify.
- Check alignment with a .22 rod before the first shot and every time you change hosts.
- Rimfire suppressors back off under recoil impulse and fouling. Re-check tightness every
50–100 rounds and any time you re-mount.
Use Rating & Duty Cycle
- Rated cartridges: .22 Short, .22 LR, .22 WRF, .22 WMR, .17 Mach 2, .17 HMR, .17 WSM, and 5.7×28mm.
- Minimum barrel length: none. Barrel length is not a limiting factor on this suppressor — it runs on any standard threaded rimfire or 5.7×28 host, rifle or pistol.
- Do not exceed the 5.7×28 ceiling. Bullet diameter alone does not make a cartridge compatible — do not fire centerfire rifle cartridges through this suppressor.
- Backpressure: Medium. On a semi-automatic host, expect some added blowback at the shooter’s position.
Thermal Limits
- Maximum sustained wall temperature: 800°F. Ti-6Al-4V loses strength as temperature climbs, and sustained or repeated exposure above this point causes cumulative microstructural damage that is not visible from the outside.

- Backpressure: Medium. Balanced to run any host in your caliber, subsonic or supersonic. On a gas gun, tune the gas system for your host.
- High-volume strings: allow the suppressor to cool between strings. With magnum cartridges, limit to 3–5 rounds before cooling.

- Titanium version — maximum sustained wall temperature: 800°F. Ti-6Al-4V loses strength as temperature climbs, and sustained or repeated exposure above this point causes cumulative microstructural damage that is not visible from the outside.

Alternative — soak. A 24-hour soak in the same 1:4 Simple Green solution works,
but it is less effective than ultrasonic. Rinse and dry the same way.

- X2R-HT (Inconel 718): full-auto rated. No round-count restriction within the published barrel-length rating.
- The two variants share an envelope but not a duty rating. If you are not certain which one you own, check the engraving on the tube against your Form 4 before running a sustained-fire schedule.
- Backpressure: Low. ReFlow gas recirculation keeps blowback at the shooter’s position low. A rifle previously tuned around a high-backpressure can will likely run undergassed on the X2R — re-tune the gas system after installing.
Thermal Limits
- Titanium version — maximum sustained wall temperature: 800°F. Ti-6Al-4V loses strength as temperature climbs, and sustained or repeated exposure above this point causes cumulative microstructural damage that is not visible from the outside.
- Inconel 718 version — maximum sustained wall temperature: 1,200°F. The superalloy holds its strength far higher than titanium, which is what makes high-volume schedules practical.
- An IR thermometer takes the guesswork out of this.
- Allow the suppressor to cool before resuming an aggressive firing schedule.
Maintenance
Carbon accumulates with use and should be cleaned out periodically.
Interval: every 1,000–1,500 rounds, or sooner depending on your ammunition and firing schedule.
Preferred method — ultrasonic.
- Use Simple Green diluted 1:4 with water, or a dedicated suppressor cleaner
(Breakthrough or similar). - Heat the bath to the cleaner’s recommended temperature and run a 10–15 minute
cycle. - For heavy deposits, extend the cycle or run additional cycles rather than increasing the
concentration. - Protect the finish. If your ultrasonic has a wire basket, contact with it can
damage the Cerakote. Instead, place the suppressor and the diluted cleaner in a sealed zip-top bag,
then fill the ultrasonic tub with plain water and set the bag in the tub. The bag transmits the
ultrasonic energy while keeping the can off the basket. - Rinse thoroughly with clean water, blow dry with compressed air, and allow to dry completely
before storage or use.
Alternative — soak. A 24-hour soak in the same 1:4 Simple Green solution works,
but it is less effective than ultrasonic. Rinse and dry the same way.
Threads and mount. Break the suppressor down from the mount at each cleaning
interval, wipe both thread sets clean, and re-apply high-temperature nickel-based anti-seize before
reassembly.
Do not use anything containing hydrofluoric acid. HF attacks titanium
aggressively and will destroy the suppressor. Check the SDS of any wheel cleaner, rust remover, or
“aluminum brightener” before it goes near this can.
This is a sealed monolithic build. There is nothing inside to disassemble — cleaning is done
with the suppressor intact.
